Debunking the Impact of Adam: Unlearning Lies About How God Judges You

AUDIO VERSION: YouTube  Podbean

If my father hadn’t been an alcoholic, I wouldn’t be so messed up today.
If the coach had let me play, I would have won a scholarship.
If that stupid doctor hadn’t misdiagnosed me, I wouldn’t be dying right now.

Ever hear people talk like this?  Have you ever talked like this?  Blaming our current problems and miseries on the choices of other people can feel like a satisfying way to illicit sympathy while shirking all responsibility for our own choices.  After all, some jerk raped you, and that means you now have a free pass to wallow in a victim mentality for the rest of your life.  Or maybe you feel you can trace back your current health problems to the fact that your mother tried to have you aborted when you were still in her womb.  Now you can blame her for everything while you play the part of the eternal martyr.  See how it works?  It’s fun to blame other people.  It’s satisfying to point the blame in any direction but towards ourselves and make up all kinds of fantasies about how perfect our lives would have been if other humans hadn’t sabotaged us with their rotten choices or malicious actions.  But here’s the problem with playing the blame game: if God doesn’t agree to play as well, then we’re going to end up in a heap of trouble.  You see, we don’t get to judge ourselves. God is the One who judges us, and that means that we need to get an accurate understanding of how His judgment system works.  Read more of this post

Suicide Q&A

Q1. CAN PEOPLE KILL THEMSELVES?

No. People can only attempt to kill themselves. God is the only One with the power to separate body from soul. From His perspective, no one dies early and no one dies late. We are all in this world for as long as He wants us to be. No one can successfully die without God’s permission and cooperation. Read more of this post

Why You Shouldn’t Gloat When Your Enemies Go Down

AUDIO VERSION: YouTube  Podbean

You consider yourself to be a committed Christian.  You’re the good guy.  You’re on the right side.  So when that jerk who has been hassling you suddenly gets hit with some brutal trial which causes him to get off your back, you find yourself wanting to do a victory dance.  After all, isn’t God exalting you by smacking your enemy down?  Clearly when the bad news is being poured out on the heads of the people who oppose you while your path is being covered in blessings, then that means God is for you and against them, doesn’t it?  Not necessarily. In real life, things are a lot more complicated than this, and in this post we’re going to discuss what some of those complications are. Read more of this post

Salvation Q&A

2691

As a human, you were created by three non-human Beings, who we refer to as Yahweh, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  These are not three personalities of a single Entity.  Yahweh, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three separate and distinct Divine Beings.  They are actively involved in your life today, and when you die, They will control whether your experience of the next life is nice or awful.  Since these three Gods control the quality of your existence, it’s in your best interest to stay on Their good side.  So how do you do this?  Christians would say that you need to obtain eternal salvation.  But what exactly is eternal salvation?  It’s a very simple concept which Christians have turned into a royal mess.  The purpose of this post is to clear up some of the confusion. The Trinity Doctrine: Its Origin & Absurdity

265

AUDIO VERSION: YouTube  Podbean

The Church teaches you to believe in one Triune God–a God who is “three in one.”  And when this confuses you, she tells you to stop trying to figure out the mysteries of God and just go with it because it’s what the Bible teaches.

The Church has been lying to you.  Yahweh, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are not three separate Personalities of one Divine Being.  They are three separate and distinct Gods.  Now  before you get all upset, you need to take an honest look at your own behavior and realize that while you claim to be a monotheist (someone who believes in just one God), in practice, you’re an obvious polytheist (someone who believes in multiple Gods).  And that’s a good thing, because true Christianity is a polytheistic religion. You Love God But You Hate People: Why You’re Not a Spiritual Failure

AUDIO VERSION: YouTube  Podbean

Can you be a devoted Christian who is greatly pleasing God if you currently loathe other humans?  The modern Church, the apostle Paul, and the apostle John would all say no.  God would say yes. Now let’s explain.

God has always taught that He is to be our First Priority—so much so that we should be willing to lose our relationships with other humans for the sake of honoring Him.  It doesn’t always get to that point, but that is the goal.  You see, God doesn’t just call us to be sort of into Him—He commands us to obsessively love Him.  We are to consider Him our All-in-All, our Master, our Commander, our King.  God is supposed to be the One who we are living to please.  His opinion is supposed to trump all others in our minds.  His approval is supposed to be everything to us.  Read more of this post

Joe is a man who carries around a bag that is well-stocked with medical supplies.  Inside of his bag are all sorts of surgical tools, syringes, and drugs.  With the components in his bag, Joe could really help a lot of people.  But he could also use the same components to do horrible things to people.  Joe is well equipped to do great good, or great harm.  If Joe should set his bag down in your presence, open it up, and start selecting certain components, what would his intentions be?  Would he be planning to help you or hurt you?  Just looking at the specific items Joe pulls out of his bag won’t give you the answer to that question, because the same items can be used to accomplish drastically different goals.  Read more of this post

The Old Covenant sacrificial system is very poorly understood by Christians, and this leads to a lot of confusion about how God judges us, and how salvation is acquired.  Let’s now learn about the difference between what the laws that God gives, and the spiritual principles that those laws are promoting. Your husband was the firstborn male in his family, so he died during the final plague—that horrifying situation in which all firstborn males in Egypt died.  Your husband was devoted to his gods, and if he was still alive, you’d never have scraped up the courage to leave Egypt with the Hebrew slaves.  But his death gave you the final push you needed to embark on a whole new spiritual journey.  The ten plagues threw you into a massive theological crisis which has resulted in you abandoning the Egyptian gods who you used to worship so that you could become a sincere Yahweh follower.  You really want to please this new God…but is He only the God of the Jews?  You’re not a Jew–does that mean you can never please this Yahweh as much as the Hebrews can?
